On June 4 explore at your own pace six unique Southwest inspired gardens :
See how homeowners transformed their properties that were raw –thorny bushes, weeds ,goat heads, patchy grass, and hoses for a watering system – to create their desert oasis. The transformed gardens include color, texture, seasonal variation, and places for metal art.
Enjoy a mature garden initially landscaped in the 90’s by renowned southwest landscape architect, Judith Phillips . True to Judith’s style, with native plants, including some unusual species, and unique design—no straight lines, multiple vignettes with private seating areas, multi-terraced hardscape—makes the landscape intriguing.
Historic preservation and plants? A very unique garden on the Tour this year is dedicated to propagating and preserving heirloom varieties of trees and plants . Grounds closest to the house are intensely cultivated, where the walled courtyard provides protected microclimates.
Love beautiful gardens and animals? See how a former orchard and a tree farm were both reconfigured into lovely gardens designed to welcome guests, for entertaining and to accommodate their animals, protect native wildlife , attract birds and preserve their views
